Weight Training

Weight training equipment has come a long way especially for home gyms.

The total gym is a perfect example of this. It

s a piece of weight training equipment that you can store under your bed yet will give you a complete workout. Another nice feature of these home gyms are that you don't need to stop and hook up some attachment.

If your looking for more traditional weight training equipment you can find home gyms by Nautilus, Weider, Cybex and Excel as well as others which are all high quality weight training equipment.

Weight training exercises are pretty simple if you follow a couple of basics. These can apply to home gyms like the total gym or to gym equipment at your local health club. Make sure you perform the weight training exercises in slow controlled motions. This will ensure that your muscles are isolated and that only they are moving the weight. Many people perform weight training exercises by jerking around very heavy weights. This can not only lead to injury but somewhat defeats the effort your putting forth as momentum is actually carrying the weight through part of the movement making the weight training exercises easier.

Doing weight training exercises slowly, in fact if done very slow as in 12 second up and 5 down will require less weight and if pushed all the way to exhaustion requires only one set. Whether your at the gym or using your total home gym if you can spend less time exercising that should be a big plus.
